Today I'm a bestselling author because of my participation in the conscious business anthology Align, Expand and Succeed: Shifting the Paradigm of Enterpreneurial Success. Thanks to the efforts of wonderful
women like Christine Kloser, Lynne Klippel, Kathleen Gage and Lauren Mcmullen, the book was a great success substantively and commercially. It hit #1 on four different Amazon "Best Seller" lists and #27 overall.
Although nearly every job or business I've ever had required a lot of writing, this is the first time ever I'm calling myself an "author!"
The book has to do with HOW we do business, not WHAT business we do. I myself have been in several businesses -- some very successful, some not so much! I've been a psychiatric social worker, a state planner in the Massachusetts governor's office, a national public affairs consultant and coalition builder in Washington DC, an organizational development consultant in California, a campaign manager in Washington state, and a real estate investor in the Midwest.

This week (October 29) is my birthday, and I'm thinking what I want to do with my NEXT business. I want to maintain my interest in conscious business, and issues we learn about from the Survey (like low vision problems and domestic violence and abuse) in a "charitable," or "volunteer" role -- but I'd like to start a business that's FUN for us older people, us 70 million Baby Boomers. Maybe a grandparent travel club or Grandmother Club to teach crafts to kids. If you have any suggestions for FUN niches that are crying to be filled, please let me know on the Contact Me page!!
